The sterile water for injection, also called USP, is nonpyrogenic, distilled and sterile water stored in a single dose bottle for intravenous administration. Suitable solute is added before administration. USP is also used as in place of dispensing bottle for diluent purposes.
The volume of water used for dissolving or diluting drugs for injection is determined by the level of concentration, route and dose of administration as instructed by the manufacture or health care expert.
The aseptic technique is used for both withdrawal and entry from container.
