Buspirone Hydrocloride- BH (Vespar) is classified among anti-anxiety drugs. Vespar is used in treatment of anxiety disorders or temporary relief of anxiety signs.

The active ingredient in Vespar is buspirone hydrochloride which is a kind of drug called anxiolytic. The buspirone hydrochloride influences many brain neurotransmitters that cause anxiety. Nonetheless, stress and anxiety that emanate from the regular activities life does not require treatment using anxiolytic.

The manner in that buspirone functions is not very clear. It seems to work through changing secretion of some neurotransmitters in the brain. The neurotransmitters refer to chemicals stored in cells and are used in passing communication signals from one nerve cell to the other. The drug is thought to enhance performance of noradrenaline and dopamine while limiting activities of acetylcholine and serotonin neurotransmitters in the brain. The final result of the medication is to get rid of anxiety symptoms.

The results of medication can be seen after 3-4 weeks of treatment. The proposed dose in the beginning is 15 mg daily. This dosage is taken in three 5mg splits over the day. Nonetheless, Vespar should be adjusted to suit personal needs depending on tolerance and response. It is recommended that patients adjust the dose to 5 mg daily as required so that you can get faster results within a short time of 2-3 days. However, the maximum daily dose should not surpass 60 mg per day.

Vespar is distinct from other anxiolytics since it lacks muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant properties. In addition, it does not cause sedation, impair psychomotor functioning and is also not addictive.

Vespar is used in treatment of anxiety coming from smoking and alcohol craving resulting from cessation. It is also used in treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in kids.
