Basic information on Masteron
Bearing similarities with testosterone, masteron is a powerful lab-made androgenic anabolic steroid. It is prescribed to postmenopausal women suffering from breast cancer undergoing comprehensive hormone therapy.
Pharmacology
Masteron is a lab-made androgen (male hormone) that bears similarities with testosterone. It acts by attaching to the androgen receptors thereby interacting with cell parts that are responsible for making proteins. The drug may also cause increased synthesis of certain proteins or even decreased synthesis of some others. In may have a number of effects such as hindering the growth of certain breast cancer cells types, encouraging red blood cells production and stimulation of cells that result to sexual characteristics in males.
Precautions
Patients should consult qualified medical practitioners in case of side effects such as vomiting, nausea, ankle swelling and change in color of the skin.
Males are advised seek medical attention in case of persistent or frequent penis erection. Females should also do so in case of grown of facial hair, changes in the menstrual cycle, acne and hoarseness.
Masteron Interactions
Androgens may cause increased sensitivity to the oral anticoagulants. To maintain effective therapeutic hypoprothrombinemia, the anticoagulant dosage may need to be reduced.
Concurrent androgen and oxyphenbutazone administration may cause increased levels of serum.
In individuals suffering from diabetes, androgen’s metabolic effects may reduce the glucose in the blood therefore requirement of insulin.

Masteron Indication: The drug should only be used in women for treatment of androgen-responsive intermittent mammary cancer for women between one and five postmenopausal years.
How does it work? Masteron is an artificial androgenic anabolic steroid known to be about five times as strong as the natural methyltestosterone. Like other androgenic hormones such as testosterone, dromostanolone is known to bind itself to androgen receptors. It causes retention of potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen, decreases metabolism of amino acids and heightens protein anabolism. Dromostanolone’s anti-tumor activity seems to be related to competitive inhibition or reduction of estrogen receptors, prolactin receptors or even production.
